As parents to three young children and former Division I collegiate athletes, we know what it takes to train with efficiency and purpose – and we believe the same dedication can transform everyday fitness goals into lifelong success. Our journey from elite competition to balancing parenthood to founding PPI has taught us one thing: greatness isn’t reserved for athletes, it’s built through consistency, encouragement, and a plan that works for you. Coach Joshua Parris of Parris Performance Institute

Joshua Parris, PhD, NSCA-CPT

Coach Josh has been involved in athletics for as long as he can remember and considers it a blessing to have grown up in a home where faith and physical fitness were family priorities. As a standout athlete in high school basketball and football, Josh went on to continue his football career in a Division I collegiate program where he served as a co-captain. Following college, he obtained a doctorate in Cancer Biology, furthering his understanding that to achieve anything worthwhile, diligence, discipline, consistency, and measurable goals are a necessity.

While completing his doctoral studies, Josh received his Personal Training certification (CPT) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). This was the first time that he felt he could apply his interest in biology to his lifelong love of physical training. Since then, Josh has interned for Division I collegiate Strength & Conditioning (S&C) programs, provided S&C services for youth athletic programs, led S&C clinics for youth summer programs, and even started another personal training business prior to co-founding the Parris Performance Institute, LLC.

Today, as a husband and father of three, Josh’s primary motivation to remain fit is to enjoy his family for as long as possible, and dispel the notion that your health has to take a backseat when life gets busy. This passion and joy for sustaining a healthy life is what birthed Parris Performance Institute, LLC, and together, Josh and Victoria infuse their passion into each training session – educating members that purposeful training is accessible, sustainable, and even fun.

As a former Division I collegiate track & field athlete specializing in sprints and hurdles, Coach Victoria knows what it takes to push limits, overcome obstacles, and perform at your best. Today, she brings that same passion and discipline to helping others achieve their goals – whether that means building strength, improving speed, or simply feeling confident in their own skin.

Victoria’s journey didn’t stop at the finish line after college competition ended. As a wife and mother of three young children, her passion lies in helping women navigate various life phases, rebuild strength, and embrace movement and faith as a source of confidence and joy. Victoria understands the unique challenges that expectant and new mothers face when it comes to fitness, and her coaching approach combines elite-level training principles with real-life practicality, rooted in compassion and empowerment. She believes fitness isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress, resilience, and finding strength in every season of life.

As both a mom and a trainer, Victoria is knowledgeable about postpartum fitness needs. She has helped me make significant progress in postpartum recovery despite being 3 years postpartum after my 4th child. When I was not able to be at the gym in person, Josh created a personalized workout schedule that struck a balance of being challenging yet attainable for me.

Working out with the Parris Performance Institute crew has been such a game-changer. A few of us women get together twice a week at 5:15am, and every session leaves us feeling stronger, more energized, and proud of what we’ve accomplished. Each workout blends strength, cardio, and core training—one day focused on legs, the other on arms—with a great mix of indoor and outdoor sessions to keep things fresh.

Our coach, and now co-founder of PPI, brings incredible energy and creativity to every workout. She constantly introduces new moves—from mobility work to outdoor sprints—that push us out of our comfort zones and keep us progressing. The workouts are challenging but always fun, and the support and motivation from the group make those early mornings something I actually look forward to.
